Director
Favian grew up in a Colombian family where Latin music was the center of his life. It wasn’t until the age of 15 or 16 when he decided to learn what all the excitement was about on the dance floor by turning to his father, who he thought at the time was the best dancer in the world because of his effortless ability to "feel the music" as he put it. When Favian attended the University of Texas, he started to understand exactly what his father meant by joining his first Latin dance student organization: Texas Latin Dance. Eventually, he went on to serve as the President for TLD and was able to foster and understand his love and passion for dance by having the opportunity teach his students, while also hosting social events, choreographing routines, and performing at festivals and congresses around Texas.
Favian Bustos
In 2009, Favian was hired at The Arthur Murray School of Dance where he became a certified dance instructor in everything from Latin, Ballroom, Country to Social dancing. One of the highlights of his career at Arthur Murray’s was choreographing countless first dances and playing a small part in making a couple’s wedding day special. This brings him to the present, where Bachata Austin was the first step towards a dream to bring Bachata and hopefully even more dances like Kizomba to Austin and surrounding areas. His goal was to grow the Inspired Movement family and community of Latin social dancing. There is much more work to come and with your support, Favian plans to bring the passion of Latin dancing to Austin and inspire other dancers to start dancing one dance at a time.
When Favian joined the performance team of Mezcla, and later Pasiones Unidas, he was introduced to the high caliber dancing and has since performed on stages all over the U.S. including: Las Vegas Salsa Congress, D.C. Bachata Congress, Semeneya, and Texas Salsa Congress. These performers inspired him to take his dancing to another level while learning even more techniques in the hopes that he would be able to share his knowledge with other dancers.
